Late fines

Charge a fine automatically when a bill goes overdue past your grace period.

You can set a grace period and a late fine so overdue bills pick up an extra charge automatically, without you having to track it yourself.

Steps

  1. Open Settings (phone: More → PG profile & settings).
  2. In Billing & receipts, set Grace days and Late fine (₹).
  3. Select Save changes.

Good to know

  • A bill becomes overdue once it's past its due date by more than Grace days.
  • The fine is added once per bill — it's shown as its own line on the invoice, separate from the rent.
  • It's applied automatically overnight once a bill is overdue, and also at the moment you or a tenant's UPI payment settles an overdue bill, in case it hadn't been applied yet.
  • When a fine is added after the invoice was first created, the invoice shows "Revised on" the date it was added.
  • Setting Late fine (₹) to 0 disables late fines entirely.
